Modular Workspaces
Modulation of spaces for fluid layouts.
The aim of this project was to rethink office space culture. Many offices that were built in the late 20th and early 21st century follow a very common cubicle style, often one that does not give people an ideal space to do their job especially in more collaborative environments commonly seen today.
Conception
An ideal workspace today is one that is collaborative and open. I conducted research at a lab analyzing the workspace and the occupant’s window view experience, and some of these ideas inspired the modular office space in this design. Each module represents a workspace that can be customized to increase privacy or remain an open plan for collaborative space.
Division of space
The modules have clear windows all-around view looking towards the central plaza that contains a cafe, seating, contemporary green walls, and a central exhibit. The top-level of each end of the structure also features a 360-degree lookout deck when workers want to take breaks and admire the serene view surrounding the office space.
